EPEG is the abbreviation for Ethylene glycol monovinyl polyethylene glycol ether (also referred to as a VPEG-type macromonomer in some literature). It is a novel, high-performance macromonomer specifically designed for synthesizing Polycarboxylate Superplasticizers (PCEs) .
Chemically, EPEG belongs to the vinyl ether family of macromonomers. This means its reactive terminal double bond is directly linked to an oxygen atom (C-O-C structure), which significantly alters its electron density and gives it a distinct advantage over other macromonomers—exceptionally high polymerization reactivity.
